Executive pharmaceutical candidates 'talented'

There has never been a greater depth of talent among executives seeking employment in the pharmaceutical sales industry, it has been claimed.

According to recruiter Heritage Partners International, it is particularly important to assess this source of qualified candidates.

Kevin Butler, managing partner and founder of the group, commented: "In my 20 years in the industry … the depth of talent available has never been stronger. If ever there was a time for a company to muscle-build their leadership team, this is it."

He went on to say that the growth in quality candidates makes the work of recruiting firms more difficult, as there are many more backgrounds to assess.

Last week, research carried out by industry advice website PharmiWeb.com indicated 40 per cent of jobseekers in the pharmaceutical industry are optimistic about their employment prospects in 2009, despite the difficult economic climate.

The portal went on to say there are currently vacancies within the industry for positions including health economists, drug representatives, medical writers and nurse advisors.
