Part-time uni jobs 'boost job chances later'
Those looking to enter the medical sales recruitment industry can increase their chances by taking on a part-time job while at university, an expert claims.
Director of the National Association of Student Employment Services Alison Clark claims there are strong advantages for those who incorporate term-time employment into their career plan.
She suggests by targeting useful sectors and skills students have the ability to build up a portfolio of related experience and abilities which they can later use to help them enter fields through medical sales recruitment.
Ms Clark claims this improves applicants' chances of being taken on board by their preferred companies as it will increase their employability.
"Through part-time work students have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience [and] the opportunity to develop their professional skills," she says.
According to the Association of Graduate Recruiters, a third of employers have lowered the degree classification they are looking for to a 2:2 or above but are increasingly taking work experience on board as a factor.
